LEE, MA — (Marketwired) — 05/23/13 — Wave Systems (NASDAQ: WAVX), the Trusted Computing Company, announced it has secured a Gold Server Platform competency in the Microsoft Partner Network, demonstrating its ability to meet Microsoft customers- evolving needs in today-s dynamic business environment.
To earn a gold competency, the organization must complete a rigorous set of tests to prove their level of technology expertise, have the right number of Microsoft Certified Professionals, submit customer references and demonstrate their commitment to customer satisfaction by participating in an annual survey.
Wave-s line of software strengthens network security while eliminating the need for user passwords. The Wave solution offers seamless security, minimizes the risk of credential theft and network hacks without the need for costly second factor authentication, and makes use of Microsoft native security features, including DirectAccess, Virtual Smartcard and BitLocker.
Wave offers both products and professional services, including Wave-s ® security software for managing hardware-based data protection and authentication. Wave-s products leverage Microsoft-s offering and augment it with additional endpoint-related functionality. Wave-s authentication offering leverages the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) security chip — included in many devices running Windows 8 — to connect those devices to Microsoft Active Directory, the management infrastructure for enterprise laptops and PCs, and to DirectAccess to replace conventional VPNs. Wave is recognized as capable of doing the end-to-end deployment for those offerings.
“With all of the innovative security features that Microsoft offers, it-s more important than ever to nurture our commitment to serving the needs of customers relying on Microsoft-based solutions,” said Ed Green, CIO and SVP, Production and Services. “There-s been a growing demand for and Microsoft has really pioneered this trend by leveraging Trusted Computing standards with embedded security solutions. Achieving the Gold Server Platform competency not only tells our customers that Wave has the expertise to leverage those solutions, but also that we-re a market-leader in Microsoft-based solutions.”
“The Microsoft Partner Network is designed to empower solution providers to succeed in today-s business environment. By achieving the prestigious gold competency, participating companies are provided with a rich set of benefits, including increased customer visibility through branding and accessibility, training and support,” said Jon Roskill, Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft Corp. “We are proud to put forth a program that provides the right resources to help a company develop the expertise customers demand in today-s competitive market and also provides the community and infrastructure that can connect them to one another, lowering costs for all parties.”
The Microsoft gold competency signifies to the market that a company has demonstrated the highest level of skill and achievement within a given technology specialization. All 25 Microsoft competencies are designed to help differentiate a partner-s specific technology capabilities, helping customers find solution providers quickly and easily. Each competency has a unique set of requirements and benefits, formulated to accurately represent the specific skills and services that partners bring to the industry.
By achieving the Gold Server Platform competency, Wave can demonstrate its expertise in building, designing, deploying and supporting the Windows Server operating system, Windows Server-based applications and the Microsoft server infrastructure. Wave is now better positioned to help support customers- business strategies through high levels of availability, agility and automation.
Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: WAVX) reduces the complexity, cost and uncertainty of data protection by starting inside the device. Unlike other vendors who try to secure information by adding layers of software for security, Wave leverages the security capabilities built directly into endpoint computing platforms themselves. Wave has been a foremost expert on this growing trend, leading the way with first-to-market solutions and helping shape standards through its work as a board member for the Trusted Computing Group.
