Parvus Visits Local Congressional Members in Support of WIN-T, U.S. Army-s Top Modernization Priority

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — (Marketwired) — 05/15/13 — Corporation, a Eurotech subsidiary and Cisco Systems Solution Technology Integration (STI) partner, announced today that Parvus President Dustin (Dusty) Kramer recently visited the Washington D.C. offices of Utah Senators Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee and Utah Congressman Jim Matheson in support of the U.S. Army-s Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) program. The Army-s top modernization priority, WIN-T provides vital communications capabilities for soldiers and commanders on the move. Building this network relies on the skills and expertise of Parvus employees in Utah.

Parvus provides a rugged Cisco-based Ethernet switch for the WIN-T network, which enhances soldier safety and effectiveness. Like other COTS IP networking subsystems from Parvus, this rugged subsystem is MIL-STD qualified and especially hardened for extreme ingress, temperatures, shock, and vibration to ensure reliable local area network (LAN) connectivity to IP-enabled computing and net-centric devices. Combined with advanced Cisco Systems IOS data, video, and voice service features for security, Quality of Service (QoS), and high availability, Parvus- rugged Ethernet switches enable deployed on-the-ground soldiers to safely communicate, text message, and exchange vital information required on the battlefield.

Kramer said, “Each day, Parvus employees work to make sure our innovative technology reaches the soldier to improve critical communications capabilities. We-re proud to be part of such a vitally important Army program and we appreciate the support of Senator Hatch, Senator Lee, and Congressman Matheson.”

Led by prime contractor General Dynamics C4 Systems, the WIN-T network and other Army networking programs depend on support from a diverse group of suppliers. Located in more than 30 states, these suppliers include small, veteran-owned, woman-owned and other businesses and represent more than 6,700 skilled workers. These suppliers and the employment they represent support local economies and help maintain job opportunities for highly skilled workers.

“Before WIN-T, commanders waited hours to get the information and intelligence they needed during a mission,” said Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics C4 Systems. “With WIN-T, they can make a conference call with team leaders while moving at 40 miles-per-hour, sharing what they know and what they are seeing in real-time. This is a life-saving advantage for our soldiers.”
