Eames Foundation and Nebo Raise $150,000 to Preserve Historic Landmark

SANTA MONICA, CA — (Marketwired) — 05/08/13 — Eames Foundation has met its initial goal to raise $150,000 in an effort to preserve and protect the , a landmark of mid-20th century modern architecture, for the next 250 years.

“We are so grateful to have raised more than $150,000 in less than three months after launching our grassroots fundraising campaign,” said Eames Demetrios, Chairman of the Board of Eames Foundation. “We couldn-t have done it without the help and support of our partners and the many, many individuals who-ve donated to the cause. We-re happy that so many love and appreciate the work of Charles and Ray Eames — and cherish being part of its future. And because we estimate that the total conservation cost will be around 2.5 million dollars, this grassroots passion is essential to the future of the Eames House.”

To help preserve the Eames House and own a piece of the Eames legacy, people can purchase hand-numbered original prints for 75 dollars each. The prints are 100 percent original works created by , Atlanta-based digital marketing and web design agency. The designs were inspired by the elegant geometry and understated simplicity of the Eames-s designs.

For each print sold at 75 dollars, and , Eames Foundation-s partner companies for the campaign, matched every purchase with an additional 75-dollar donation. The campaign launched in January 2013 and met its goal just three months later.

Emboldened by the success of the first phase of the campaign, Eames Foundation and Nebo will reveal four new limited addition prints to continue to help raise funds to help preserve the Eames House.

“Design enthusiasts around the world have really rallied for this cause,” said Adam Harrell, President at Nebo. “The amount of support has been absolutely amazing. We-re looking forward to the release of this next set of prints so we can help preserve this landmark of modern architecture for the next generation.”
