SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwired) — 04/22/13 — ., a technology provider that is transforming the future of human-computer interaction, today announced the availability of their latest zSpace enabling software technology, zEST to their . They will demonstrate the software at , the world-s first interactive 3D computing conference, beginning today at the in Mountain View, California.
, a virtual holographic platform, empowers users to visualize and directly interact with holographic simulations in an immersive 3D environment. The release of zEST enhances and expands zSpace software tools that enable application developers to create the world-s most lifelike and interactive user experiences. The latest zSpace SDK delivers improved stylus tracking, providing developers with a larger interactive volume and higher level of precision. It includes new interaction modes such as stylus tap and double tap, which further enables the new world of direct interaction by leveraging existing user experience. Additionally, this release includes zSpace Experience, a next generation application created using the Unity development platform, featuring a new anatomical scene of an interactive beating heart.
“We are enabling developers to change the way their customers experience technology, while providing the tools they need to ensure efficiency and reuse,” said Dave Chavez, CTO of zSpace, Inc. “When developing our own zSpace Experience application, we leveraged reusable code and user interface, available to our , significantly reducing custom code and accelerating development. With the latest release of zEST, we are eager to see how the expanded capabilities advance developers- work even further.”
zEST now includes support for , developed in cooperation with . VRPN is a device-independent and network-transparent system for accessing virtual reality peripherals in VR applications. By supporting VRPN, zSpace is now configurable to work with even more applications.
At zCon 2013, zSpace will also demonstrate breakthrough video fusion capabilities that enable developers to create real-time videos of their applications in use. These videos capture the essence of the perception their users have while interacting with the zSpace platform. This new feature expands the tools available to a zSpace developer to include enhanced marketing and sales capabilities.
“zSpace is continuing to innovate and provide developers with the tools they need to create amazing applications,” says Cliff Champion, zSpace developer and graduate student at University of California San Diego. “I will be using their new video fusion capability at zCon to showcase my application to a large audience in a way that allows them to see the impact of zSpace without experiencing it themselves. I was able to integrate this in minutes, not hours, saving me time as well.”
