Dr. Rowen will present “Porting Applications to High-Performance Imaging DSPs” at the Embedded Vision Summit. His discussion will highlight imaging-s insatiable appetite for more computing throughput at low power and specify key considerations and steps for porting and tuning applications on a high-performance imaging DSP.

The Embedded Vision Summit is a one-day technical educational forum for engineers interested in incorporating visual intelligence into electronic systems and software.

Dr. Chris Rowen is the chief technology officer of Tensilica, which he founded in July 1997. He was a pioneer in the development of RISC architecture at Stanford in the early 1980s and helped start MIPS Computer Systems Inc. in 1984, where he served in a variety of functions including as vice president for Microprocessor Development. When Silicon Graphics purchased MIPS, he became the technology and market development leader for Silicon Graphics Europe. In 1996, he became Synopsys- vice president and general manager of the Design Reuse Group. Dr. Rowen received a B.A. in physics from Harvard University and M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
