MINNEAPOLIS, MN — (Marketwired) — 04/12/13 — Network Instruments, a worldwide leader in network and application performance monitoring, today announced the release of its resource and infrastructure monitoring solution, (OI). The new version incorporates configuration monitoring capabilities, allowing network operations teams to proactively manage infrastructure configurations. It immediately identifies configuration changes to critical devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and virtual switches — in addition to prioritizing IT response via triaged alarms.
“Network Instruments continues to lead the way in integrating , , and infrastructure performance views, allowing customers to identify configuration changes and assess their impact on service delivery,” said Charles Thompson, director of product marketing. “Network engineers may not realize how changes to IT infrastructure are impacting service delivery. Utilizing the configuration monitoring capabilities in OI eliminates the guesswork from troubleshooting, saving network teams time and improving their accuracy.”
Observer Infrastructure utilizes pre-defined and user-created rules to establish standard configuration profiles for devices involved in the delivery of critical services on the network, and then automatically monitors for any device changes. Change notifications can be assigned different priority levels and alarms, allowing teams to triage problems and more effectively allocate IT resources. When integrated into the Network Instruments- , network teams can correlate and assess the impact of configuration changes on network and application performance.
In addition to configuration monitoring, OI offers several new features that expand its position as a leading enterprise infrastructure monitoring solution:
Redundant OI Enterprise creates a highly fault-tolerant architecture to improve monitoring uptime and availability in enterprise environments. This capability allows OI Enterprise users to deploy primary and secondary OI appliances that synchronize automatically, ensuring the smooth and immediate transition to the secondary unit during any service interruptions with the primary unit.
As network teams become increasingly involved with security and compliance issues, Network Instruments provides expanded insight into Check Point security appliances. Additionally, as network engineers track availability issues and delivery within Microsoft Hyper-V environments, OI now offers support for Microsoft Failover Clustering and Microsoft Network Load Balancing Clusters.
Established in 1994, Network Instruments is an industry leader in application and network management. It provides products that optimize performance and speed problem resolution, helping ensure delivery of critical applications for businesses worldwide. Network Instruments delivers these benefits through a seamlessly integrated line of precision-engineered software and hardware systems for exact network monitoring and analysis.
