In this role, Mr. Herran will be the chief strategist and architect for all ongoing technology development, implementation and training as well as identification, evaluation and development of new network platforms.

Ongoing development of DukeNet-s Carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS and 100G coherent DWDM capabilities and product management
Identification and evaluation of all next-generation technologies that align with DukeNet-s long-term strategy, including software defined networking (SDN), packet/optical convergence and cloud computing
Development of new network platforms, while defining service and network architecture standards
Technical training
Network expansion
Small cell product development efforts
Sales engineering
