SINGAPORE — (Marketwired) — 04/02/13 — (DCMI), one of the world-s largest hotel technology providers, has successfully achieved -s 2013 Global Property Network Standard (GPNS) certification for its high-speed wired and wireless Internet service. The signing was made official on March 28, 2013 in the presence of Marriott International CIO Bruce Hoffmeister and DOCOMO interTouch CEO Charles Reed during Marriott-s 2013 Asia Pacific & Middle East Africa (MEA) One Team Learning Seminar in Bangkok.
As one of the first providers to be GPNS certified and to deploy a fully-converged infrastructure in a Marriott hotel, DCMI has a solid track record with Marriott. While already in compliance with 2011 standards, this recertification now brings DCMI current with Marriott-s 2013 standards for network services.
The Marriott GPNS program creates a consistent, industry-leading Internet offering across Marriott properties and brands. To achieve certification, companies must undergo months of rigorous lab testing and meet various regulations and standards.
Today, 70 percent of all Marriott properties in the Asia Pacific and MEA regions use DCMI-s FREEDOM Internet with an estimated seven million guest connections provided annually. Since the original certification two years ago, those Marriott properties using FREEDOM Internet have experienced significant improvements. For example, several properties who were not meeting their guest satisfaction score (GSS) Internet targets before switching to FREEDOM Internet are now are meeting those goals, and 97 percent of guests are easily able to connect to the Internet with no need for helpdesk support.
“In the two years since first achieving GPNS certification, we are delighted that those Marriott properties have seen tremendous improvement in Internet guest satisfaction scores,” said DCMI-s Reed. “By completing this recertification, we further strengthen our long-standing relationship with Marriott and look forward to many more years of successful Internet deployment.”
