SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwire) — 03/27/13 — Mindbloom () today announced Proof, a fun, simple and social life game app for people who want to challenge friends, family and co-workers to reach weekly personal or group goals on the go. Available in and , Proof features a retro arcade-like design that uses photos, videos, social bantering and player-determined prizes to challenge, inspire and motivate people to do something out-of-the-ordinary, whether at home, in the gym, or even in the office. Requiring players to post a photo or video as -proof- that a challenge has been accomplished, visual evidence drives the entire app to inspire people to not just say they did something, but to prove it.
“Proof is for people who want to up their -game- in achieving personal goals through the experience of fun, social challenges with friends,” said Mindbloom co-founder, Chris Hewett, a former executive producer for Monolith Productions who developed blockbuster hits such as No One Lives Forever, Tron 2.0, and F.E.A.R. “For those of us with a little competitive spirit, there-s nothing as motivating as seeing photo or video proof that a friend just took the lead in your daily push-up challenge. Next thing you know, you-re cranking out push-ups in-between meetings at work, during TV commercial breaks, and while dinner cooks. These friendly competitions are the perfect inspiration to becoming more creative in how we sustain those new habits long enough to become a natural part of our daily lives.”
In Proof, players can select from a wide list of seven-day challenges created by Mindbloom or , or they can create their own across areas such as Health, Relationships, Career, Creativity, Finances, Lifestyle, and Spirituality. Players are then prompted to determine the intensity, frequency and a personal incentive or fun prize for competing in the challenge. Next, Proof makes it incredibly easy to immediately invite Facebook friends, Smartphone contacts or use personal email addresses to ask others to participate in their challenge. For example, players can challenge co-workers to take the stairs once per day during the week with the reward of any prize they want, whether a free dinner, a night at the movies, cash, a simple high-five, or even a Tesla. To keep things interesting and competitive over the course of the weekly challenge, Proof offers a real-time leaderboard where players not only engage in friendly -smack-talk- or offer words of encouragement, but also use photos and videos as actual -proof- to showcase well-deserved bragging rights. Photos can be enhanced with Instagram-like special effects, stickers, and more. Anytime a proof photo or video is added or a comment is made, all players will be notified via email and in-app notifications — sparking healthy, fun and intense competitions as well as fueling chatter to keep players motivated and engaged.
“Using photos and videos for visual evidence is such a great way to not only keep people accountable, which helps their success rate, but I also love that you can see other player-s uploads of visual proof for added motivation and creative ideas,” said Brett Blumenthal, author of A Whole New You. “By requiring a video or photo as evidence, it becomes pretty hard to fake results, making Proof the ultimate way to challenge and motivate others to complete goals through accountability, encouragement and competition, but in a fun way that feels more like a game of Pac-Man meets Facebook meets Nike-Fuel, than work.”
