In India the number of internet users grew in 2009 by double-digits, however only 5% of all internet users shopped online by mid 2009. Indian B2C e-commerce grew from 2008 to 2009 by 30%, but this trend could be curbed by the low broadband penetration in India. Furthermore, in 2009 online revenue in India amounted to 2,100 US dollars/customer and remained below the Pacific-Asian average of 2,500 US dollars/customer.
