The process of employee work eligibility validation has undergone significant changes in recent years, leaving many employers unsure about the best practices to ensure full compliance with rapidly changing requirements. As more states require the use of E-Verify® for employee eligibility validation, and with the government expected to make significant changes to Form I-9, it has become even more challenging for employers to understand what is expected of them in verifying employee eligibility and the penalties they may be subjected to if they do not comply.
During the educational session, “New Directions in Immigration Enforcement,” Dave Fowler, chair of the APA Subcommittee on Immigration and vice president of Product Strategy for Equifax Workforce Solutions, joins with Yvette LaGonterie, chief of Outreach for the Verification Division of Citizenship and Immigration Services, among other experts, to discuss the latest developments in immigration enforcement and how they impact employee validation processes.
Attendees will learn more about the recent E-Verify enhancements and the proposed changes to Form I-9, and gain insight into ICE-s future worksite enforcement priorities and the potential penalties that could affect employers. The session will give participants a unique opportunity to hear about such developments from both the employer and government perspective.
