QASymphony Releases Cloud-based QA Testing Tool qTest

DUBLIN, CA — (Marketwire) — 02/26/13 — After an extensive beta program at the hands of 500 companies from 23 countries, QASymphony (), a leading developer of Quality Management solutions for software developers, ALM and DevOps teams, today announced general availability of qTest, a solution ideally suited for small and growing QA testing teams eager for an easy and affordable path towards formalizing their quality control procedures.

Accessible via any web browser, the online solution is competitively priced at $20 per user per month. qTest provides a highly flexible and collaborative work environment for teams to manage requirements, design test cases, plan test execution, track defects, and generate status and quality-metrics reports.

Says Ursula Wlodarczyk, a QA tester for Typecast, a designer of website typography based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, “I needed a platform that gave me the freedom to easily update my test plans and keep them structured, organized, and in good working order. Ideally, I was looking for a cloud solution so that I could access my work from anywhere on any browser at any time. qTest responds well to quick inputs. It-s easy to imagine that the tool was developed by testers.”

A SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution, qTest is comparable to enterprise-class test managers such as HP Quality Center, but unlike these large enterprise systems, the platform-s $20 per user per month subscription model makes it an extremely low-cost, low-risk proposition to pilot and adopt. qTest was also designed from the ground up by testers who built simplicity of use into the product.

Heavily tested by some 500 beta sites, qTest arrives fully featured with pre-built integration with popular development lifecycle tools and defect tracking systems. Some of the qTest features and modules include:

Test Planning

Test case management

Defect tracking

Built in workflows and collaboration

Requirement management

Test cycle management

Dashboards and Reports

qTest integrates with defect tracking and ALM providers such as VersionOne, Fogbugz, Jira, and Bugzilla defect trackers as alternatives to the application-s built-in defect tracking tool. qTest also integrates seamlessly with the qTrace and defect capture tool, which can submit bug reports directly into qTest to increase the testing team-s productivity.
