MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — (Marketwire) — 02/25/13 — Fox Technologies, Inc., a leading global provider of access management solutions, today announced the release of FoxT ServerControl version 6.7. Part of FoxT-s comprehensive Access Management solution suite, FoxT ServerControl enables organizations to proactively enforce privileged user access policies and actions across diverse Unix, Linux and Windows servers.
The latest release of FoxT ServerControl makes it possible for organizations to leverage FoxT-s Active Directory (AD) Bridge and the implementation of SSH jointly. Specifically, the new functionality, Kerberos-enabled SSH, allows for transparent Kerberos ticket retrieval directly from AD (or other Kerberos infrastructure) and use of the ticket for authentication throughout the environment.
“What-s particularly interesting about the new Kerberos-enabled SSH capability is that user authentication for access to a NFSv4 file system that is hosted on a server or appliance can now be automatically controlled through FoxT ServerControl,” stated Jonas Iggbom, Director of Product Management at FoxT. “That gives organizations additional control and flexibility in authenticating SSH users as well as the ability to automatically control access to file systems using the NFSv4 architecture.”
While previous versions of FoxT-s privileged access management solution provided centralized management of SSH host keys down to sub-service levels, the new release adds support for centralized management of SSH User Public Keys, making the provisioning of public keys to hosts much more efficient.
Expanding the scope of access control, the latest release enables organizations to leverage the powerful access policy engine within FoxT ServerControl to enforce access controls for Windows Network File Shares (Netshares). With FoxT-s Netshare Access Control, controlling who has access to what Netshares on a Windows server is easily configured, proactively enforced, and automatically logged for audit reporting.
“With the new Netshare Access Control and Kerberos-enabled SSH capabilities, organizations can centrally and proactively prevent unauthorized access to file systems on Windows, Linux and Unix environments,” said Subhash Tantry, CEO at FoxT. “With this latest release, we continue to deliver on our strategy of providing the most extensive and granular access control enforcement to the marketplace, which in turn, enables organizations to protect their corporate data and value.”
protects corporate information with an access management solution suite that enforces granular access entitlements to operating systems, databases, applications, and desktops, including the ability to control the elevation of privileges. The ability to centrally administer, authenticate, authorize, and audit access controls enables organizations to greatly reduce compliance and audit costs, streamline IT security administration, and protect corporate value by mitigating the risk of insider fraud.
