TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 02/12/13 — Today, Dx3 announced the introduction of a new interactive shopping concept – the Retail Showcase to be debuted at Dx3 2013 in collaboration with PayPal, the leading online global payments provider, ShirtPunch, Canada Post award winning eCommerce start-up of 2012 and mobile retail technology experts, MobileXCo. Dx3-s Retail Showcase will help Canadian retailers understand where the retail experience is moving.
“We are excited about the Retail Showcase at Dx3 which will combine seamlessly integrated mobile payments, interactive touch screens and real-time inventory displays. Our aim is to provide Dx3 visitors with a tangible look into where the connected shopping experience is going,” said Anthony Hull, Event Director. “Helping Canada get digital is a bold promise. Through concepts like the Retail Showcase, we hope to provide Canadian retailers with the insight they need to move their digital business forward.”
As part of the Retail Showcase, PayPal will demo an order-ahead feature on the PayPal mobile app for the first time in Canada. This new payment experience was first unveiled at a Jamba Juice store in the U.S. in January 2013. Dx3 visitors can download the PayPal mobile app for iOS and Android devices and with the app, locate ShirtPunch and buy t-shirts at any time during the event. Order-ahead with the PayPal app makes it convenient for people at Dx3 to buy ShirtPunch t-shirts – no cash, no card and no waiting in a line at the cash register.
“Simple shopping experiences that solve real consumer pain points like long lines at cash registers are what we-re focusing on at PayPal. With the Retail Showcase, we will share how PayPal can help Canadian retailers make shopping fun and seamless for today-s connected consumer,” said Darrell MacMullin, Managing Director, PayPal Canada.
Access to the Retail Showcase at Dx3 2013 is free for pre-registered, qualified attendees. Visit to register.
