Summer is about to arrive, the temperature is rising and there is no shade in sight. For some this begs the question: What awning would look best on my house? One is spoilt for choice, because there is a lot to bear in mind. The awning should match to the style and colour of the house. Should one choose a model with or without cassette, with or without valance? And, what cover matches? One question after the other. Even the best brochure is sometimes not much help. However, there is now a useful small tool, which can be used at home on the computer to design the perfect awning for your balcony or patio – the markilux awning configurator. 12 different models are available so that you can experiment with frame colours, practical functions and various cover patterns – and this on four different types of house with a large selection of building materials to choose from for the façades and patios. With the new “visulizer” tool, a digital photo of your own patio can even be used to back your awning. And then simply try things out: Where is the shade? Should the awning perhaps be slightly larger? Do you need lighting or not? Everything is feasible and it can be viewed quite simply on the screen. Also practical is that window, patio and conservatory awnings can now be combined. Once a choice has been made, it is easier to receive expert advice from a specialist dealer. And then nothing stands in the way of enjoying those summer evenings on the patio.
From May onwards, our new free software can be ordered on DVD or downloaded from the Internet. The DVD also contains a sundial which demonstrates the exact amount of shade your awning will throw.
