SINGAPORE — (Marketwire) — 01/22/13 — , the leading provider of , has announced the opening of its Singapore office as a strategic foundation for its expansion into the rest of Asia. Singapore will be the company-s second office in the Asia Pacific region and is part of a targeted investment plan to expand operations as advances are made towards an IPO. The Singapore office opens ahead of plan, just four months after it opened its first APAC office in Sydney, Australia in September 2012.
Nimble Storage, which has the honour of being the storage industry-s fastest growing company in history, is rapidly expanding into global markets that have high growth in data centre projects. Singapore is estimated to hold more than 50 per cent of the commercial carrier and carrier neutral data centre space in Southeast Asia, according to the country-s Economic Development Board.
“Our storage systems provide the perfect scenario of extremely high-performance and high-capacity at a very attractive price point for companies in the Singapore market. Nimble provides ideal solutions for enterprises of all sizes allowing customers to grow storage without disruption, from small to large, at the lowest possible cost,” Suresh Vasudevan, CEO of Nimble Storage, said.
Nimble Storage has changed the game in the data storage industry by developing the industry-s only flash-optimized storage architecture designed to expressly leverage the best of flash performance and the price/capacity of high capacity hard disk drives. Nimble Storage-s solution simultaneously delivers higher performance and larger capacities at a lower price than traditional storage systems. Since launching its first flash-optimized products in 2010, customers worldwide have benefited from Nimble Storage-s award winning products by reducing their total cost of ownership (TCO), by improving on their recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO), and through enhanced data management functionality.
The Singapore office will be staffed by industry veterans Rachel Ler and Sathish Murthy. Ler, who joins Nimble Storage to head sales, has previously held senior sales positions at Microsoft, NetApp and IBM. Murthy comes to Nimble Storage as its technical engineering lead from EMC and NetApp where he has held roles in product management, professional services and consulting.
“We are very excited about our entry into Singapore and believe that the local market is more than ready for an innovative, high performance hybrid storage solution. We also see Singapore as an important hub from which we can quickly expand into the rest of Asia. In fact, we plan to move our Asia Pacific headquarters from Sydney to Singapore within the next 18 months to take full advantage of its strategic location,” Peter O-Connor, Vice President for Nimble Storage Asia Pacific, said.
Nimble Storage has already established a strong beach-head in Singapore by appointing six best-of-breed local resellers including Biomedia IT Holdings, Genesis Networks, Infront Consulting Group, IT Access, SoftSource and TVC. Consistent with its early results in Australia, where more than twenty resellers were signed and a strong list of new customers acquired within the first few months, Nimble Storage anticipates very strong demand for its technology and also continued headcount growth in Singapore.
Tracy Lim, CEO of Biomedia IT Holdings, said, “We have been seeking out the perfect storage solution for many years. In Nimble Storage, we have found a robust and highly differentiated technology that combines the best of flash and disk to achieve superior performance coupled with a full suite of software features. We are extremely confident that this technology will be successful in Singapore.”
Allen Lee, Managing Director, Genesis Networks, said, “Genesis Networks is thrilled to be partnering with Nimble Storage in the Singapore market. We believe the Nimble Storage technology is ideally suited to the Singapore market.”
Stanley Lee, Sales Manager, SoftSource Solutions Pte Ltd, said, “SoftSource has a strong track record of delivering compelling and best-of-breed solutions to our customers. We expect Nimble Storage to be an important partner and a strong addition to our storage portfolio this year.”
Nimble Storage believes enterprises should not have to compromise on performance, capacity, ease of use, or price. Nimble has developed the first hybrid storage architecture engineered from the ground up to seamlessly integrate flash and high-capacity drives. Our customers enjoy as much as 10x faster application performance, enhanced backup and disaster recovery, and stress-free operations — all while lowering their TCO.
