The largest owner-managed industrial gas specialist, Messer, has appointed Nathalie von Siemens (41) as a member of the Supervisory Board. Her appointment means that the Supervisory Board of Messer Group GmbH now has six members. The post of Chairman has been occupied by Jürgen Heraeus since 2004. ?Because of her experience in personnel development Ms von Siemens is a real gain for our Supervisory Board,? said Stefan Messer, owner and Chief Executive Officer of the Messer Group.
After completing her PhD in philosophy, Nathalie von Siemens 2005 joined a General Management Trainee Programme at Siemens AG, a company founded by her great-great-grandfather. After working in investor relations and corporate communications, she switched to corporate strategy. Most recently she was responsible for developing top talents at group level. Today Nathalie von Siemens is Managing Director and Speaker of the Board of the Siemens Stiftung.
Messer?s Supervisory Board was set up voluntarily by the stockholders of the family-owned company in 2004. In April of that year the stockholders of Messer were able to appoint Werner Breuers as a member of the Supervisory Board. Since 2007 Werner Breuers has been a member of the Board of Management of the chemicals company Lanxess.
Messer is the largest privately run industrial gases specialist and is active in over 30 countries in Europe and Asia, as well as Peru, with over 60 operating companies. Its international activities are managed from Frankfurt am Main, whilst management of core technical functions – logistics, engineering, production and application engineering – is undertaken from Krefeld. In 2011, 5,251 exmployees generated consolidated sales of ? 1,029 billion.
