In past years, a blue ribbon panel of judges chose finalists from among SBN member blogs, and winners were then selected through an SBN member vote. This year, finalists will be picked by both a blue ribbon panel of esteemed judges with deep expertise and experience in the security industry as well as a new nomination and voting process that any blogger and reader can participate in.
To participate in this year-s finalist nomination process, entrants must do the following within the specified deadlines:
Provide your name, email address, phone number, company and title (if applicable), blog name and URL to . In the email, indicate which category the blog will be nominated in: Best Corporate Security Blog (must include business email for this category), Best Security Podcast, The Most Educational Security Blog, The Most Entertaining Security Blog, The Blog that Best Represents the Security Industry, The Single Best Blog Post or Podcast of the Year, or The Security Bloggers Hall of Fame.
Once the nomination has been verified, entrants will receive a graphic to post on the home page of the blog along with a link to the nomination voting page.
On Monday, Jan. 21, voting for nominated blogs will open; it will close Friday, Jan. 25, and is open to anyone. All nominees may circulate the voting page URL, , freely. Entrants are welcome to also issue a press release or any other campaign content promoting the nomination and voting process.
After the nomination and voting process ends, the top vote recipients will be added to the list of finalists. SBN members will then choose winners through a voting process open only to them. The award-winner voting process will start Tuesday, Jan. 29, and end Monday, Feb. 4. SBN members can be alerted when the voting opens by emailing contact information to .
This year-s winners will be announced at the 2013 SBN Security Bloggers Meetup in San Francisco during RSA Conference 2013.
