Mr. Hughes will also continue his current duties as a member of Serena Software-s board of directors. As President and CEO, Mr. Hughes succeeds John Nugent, who has stepped down from his positions with the company.

Mr. Hughes is currently a Director of Silver Lake and a senior member of the firm-s Value Creation Team. He has over 20 years of experience as a technology industry executive and consultant in the technology industry. Prior to joining Silver Lake, he was a senior executive at Symantec, most recently serving as Group President, Enterprise Products, where he had responsibility for the $4 billion enterprise software business and led the engineering and product management team. Mr. Hughes held other roles in his tenure at Symantec including Chief Strategy Officer, in which he led corporate development, portfolio strategy and emerging businesses, and Group President, Global Services, in which he led the company-s professional, support and managed services business unit. He joined Symantec through the company-s acquisition of VERITAS Software, where he was Executive Vice President, Global Services. Mr. Hughes joined VERITAS after a 10-year career at McKinsey & Company, where he most recently served as Partner and founded and led McKinsey-s Software Practice. Mr. Hughes is also a board member of LogMeIn. He was awarded an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
