VANCOUVER, BC — (Marketwire) — 01/07/13 — Digital Payment Technologies () (DPT) and Creative Parking Concepts announced the deployment of 40 LUKE II parking pay stations in the city of Chattanooga, Tenn. Installed by Creative Parking Concepts, and managed by the newly formed Chattanooga Parking Authority, a division of the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA), the new solar-powered multi-space pay stations replace 286 single-head parking meters. The new pay stations will be deployed by the end of January 2013.
CARTA has been using pay stations from DPT since 2007, and the 40 new solar-powered meters bring the total to 68 in the city. The Chattanooga Parking Authority made the decision to expand the city-s multi-space pay stations to both the revitalized riverfront district and the City Center. Consumers parking in these areas will benefit from the convenient option to pay with coins credit cards. Additionally customers will now have the added convenience of paying by phone on all of the pay stations. From the management and parking enforcement perspective, the pay stations will also make enforcement more efficient.
“These are high turnover areas and multi-space pay stations are the perfect fit,” said Brent Matthews, director of parking at CARTA. “We appreciate the pay stations- ease-of-use, quick troubleshooting and overall reliability. We-ve had great success with DPT pay stations, and the ability to pay with a credit card or by phone is a great convenience for the consumer. We are also working to offer smart cards later this year. The pay stations give us the flexibility to employ new parking technology and improve customer service.”
Added David Hoyt, regional sales manager at Digital Payment Technologies, “We are pleased that CARTA has continued to invest in our pay stations. The reliability, ability to streamline enforcement and multiple payment options make our pay stations the best choice for today-s parking needs. Also, the pay stations- modular construction and backend software, allow the pay stations to be easily upgraded over time as parking needs evolve. This makes DPT a great investment for today, and the future.”
The new parking pay stations in Chattanooga will accept payment via credit cards, coins and by phone. Parking rates remain at $0.75 per hour.
