Cologne, December 11 2012 – dimedis will present several new Digital Signage solutions to the visitors of the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in Amsterdam in early 2013. ISE is the world-s best-attended tradeshow for the professional AV and electronic systems industry.
From January 29 to 31 2013, presentations at the dimedis booth (H8 F182) will showcase the new version 6.0 of the price-winning Digital Signage solution kompas as well as a new wayfinding system.
kompas is the first Digital Signage software to make extensive use of the HTML5 standard and to offer a perfect interface with Adobe EDGE Animate. Interactive elements will be another strong point of the new kompas release: Users are encouraged to use their smartphones as remote controls to influence the content shown on the screen and to manage the Digital Signage system.

The latest version of the Digital Signage software kompas is the main talking point for dimedis at ISE 2013. With kompas 6.0, dimedis presents the first solution on the market that puts a strong focus on HTML5 and sets a new standard for the Digital Signage industry.
HTML5 represents a big chance that could lead to more standardization and allow more compatibility between different solutions, thus promoting the platform-independent use of content. This would facilitate the integration of Digital Signage as one part of bigger advertising campaigns without the need for elaborate adjustments to the content depending on each platform. With kompas 6.0, thanks to the use of HTML5, it is very easy to deliver the same content to a diversity of different devices and screen sizes. kompas 6.0 offers seamless integration with professional tools such as Adobe Edge and will support even more HTML5 editors in the future. kompas recognises HTML5 files created by Adobe EDGE Animate as templates. This removes the need for extensive trainings – customers can simply continue using their editor of choice, thus ensuring maximum productivity.
HTML5 has more to offer: Animations automatically fit to different screen sizes and dynamic templates allow the user to manipulate animations easily. But the ability to easily deploy content on many different channels remains the most important argument for HTML5. Advertising agencies can take a campaign that was designed for websites and quickly adapt it for Digital Signage. This will lead to a boom in Digital Out-of-Home advertising.
kompas 6.0 turns smartphones into remote controls for Digital Signage applications
Another huge feature of the latest kompas release is the ability to use your smartphone as a remote control. A typical use case for this feature is a user standing in front of a shop window: Using his smartphone, he can scan a QR code to influence the content shown on the Digital Signage display behind the window.
Imagine a travel agency where users can choose between different countries to get more information or special offers. Or think about an insurance company offering different kinds of insurance policies, where users can select one and then be presented with relevant information for each choice.
