Major Update of OMNITRACKER based Business Process Templates

In OMNITRACKER IT Service Management Center v4, License Administration has been added as an extension to Service Asset & Configuration Management module. It not only uses the existing OMNITRACKER CMDB workflows, but furthermore interfaces with other OMNITRACKER processes such as Change Management. It is possible to integrate additional interfaces to ERP Systems and Inventory Scanners. Several standard reports are included. As a conclusion, Configuration Managers now have easy access to license statistics, such as the number of acquired licenses, their assignment to hardware (PCs, notebooks, etc.) as well as license gaps in the IT environment, just to mention but a few.

For OMNITRACKER Stock and Order Management (SOM), the main focus was not only on enhancing the core processes, but also on improving usability. A streamlined consolidation has thus been performed. An example of this is the integration of License Administration into the CMDB of ITSM Center as a new module, see above. The OMNITRACKER WebShop provides improved end-user usability, workflows have been optimized for even quicker processing and approval workflows have been enhanced (e.g.: approval by e-mail). As of 2013, OMNINET will provide a one-day training to provide customers a basic foundation of the Stock and Order Management Template.
OMNITRACKER Project Management Center (PMC) now assists Project Managers in cases where complete projects or parts thereof have to be rescheduled. Project structures and timelines can now be rescheduled automatically.
Time Recording Monitor helps employees to keep track of their time recording. It also assists budget controllers in verifying that the current budget status is up to date.

An interface to the automated test tools has been implemented in OMNITRACKER Systems Engineering Center (SEC). ‘TestComplete’ by SmartBear is supported out-of-the-box. Test parameters can be stored in the integrated CMDB. It is possible to invoke and run automated tests based on Test Specifications, while SEC keeps control over this process and also evaluates test results. The new process ‘Request Management’ has been established to act as an SPOC (single point of contact) for communication with end-users.

For the OMNITRACKER Requirements Management Center (RMC), a closer integration with Systems Engineering Center has been established: Requirements can now be directly included into the SEC release planning.

Hans Anacker, Head of Consulting, remarks: “I am pleased to announce that the above-mentioned OMNITRACKER templates have been further improved. We have developed and implemented many new features and additional functionality in close cooperation with our customers, which now make our templates even more attractive.”
