OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL — (Marketwire) — 12/19/12 — Quipa, a software company headquartered in Sydney, Australia delivering new and revolutionary technologies for secure network connectivity, today announced the launch of a North American go-to-market initiative with the formation of Quipa US LLC, headquartered in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. To implement the initiative locally, Quipa has relocated Shannon Roy, SVP Quipa, to Oakbrook Terrace where he will additionally serve as VP Enterprise Solutions for Quipa US and coordinate the future roadmap for Quipa applications in the US and globally. To lead the successful introduction of QuipaLoop in North American markets, Quipa US has hired senior software executive J. Thomas Gensch as President. Also today, Quipa US has announced its first Reseller Agreement with Specialty Systems, Inc, a leading systems integrator in the defense, state government, law enforcement and commercial markets. {See }
Using technology developed in Australia and patented globally, QuipaLoop is a unique approach to network connectivity that is more agile and secure than traditional VPN technologies. It secures access to services anywhere on the network and protects data in transit across the network through Quipa-s Secure Connection Broker (SCB) technology — a proprietary, secure networking capability that segments the network into “loops” of trusted devices. Unlike a physical network, the loop is a non-addressable virtual overlay that is secured by trusted, self-authenticating devices. QuipaLoop can operate across one or many physical networks and is easily deployed on mobile devices as well as computers. QuipaLoop eliminates the security weaknesses that result from spoof-able certificate authorities common to SSL VPN or discoverable directories of IP addresses used to manage IPsec solutions.
Quipa US President, Tom Gensch, has over 25 years of enterprise software company experience, holding senior executive positions at successful software companies including Support Soft and NewsEDGE. Prior to Quipa, Tom served as CRO for MuseGlobal, working with agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and the Department of Justice on technology solutions for Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR). “There is nothing more exciting or rewarding for me than working with business and public sectors to introduce new ways of deploying enterprise solutions that are ground breaking and a must-have to conduct business successfully,” said Gensch. “QuipaLoop is a game changer — it addresses business in the new world of device access and collaboration while protecting data in transit against cyber threats.”
Quipa VP of Enterprise Services, Shannon Roy, has 22 years of software engineering, web commerce, corporate recruitment and corporate governance experience in international markets, including twelve years in Beijing, China. Prior to Quipa, Shannon served in GM, CEO, and Director roles for several investment and consulting strategy engagements in businesses in the Asian market. Prior to his work in Asia, Shannon led the website development efforts of Sony Music Entertainment in Australia. “Throughout my career, I have experienced first-hand the positive impact of revolutionary, industry-changing technologies on the organizations where I have worked, so it was easy for me to recognize that Quipa is that technology in the security space,” said Roy. “I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience to the most effective adoption of Quipa for our customers and partners worldwide.”
“The sophistication of cybercrime is threatening to outpace the evolution of security technologies. At Quipa, we are intent on delivering new technologies that maintain the upper hand for our customers,” said Karyn Devonshire, CEO, Quipa Group. “The addition of Tom and Shannon to our team is strong proof of our commitment to expanding the delivery of this value to North American markets.”
At Quipa, our goal is to help our customers protect their information and their reputations, yet still meet the evolving challenges of connectivity and information-sharing in today-s increasing virtual and mobile workplace. Founded in 2008 by executives with over 50 years of combined experience in the telco and security spaces, our software solutions are designed to help companies, government agencies, and Cloud service providers shape their online connections with a higher level of security and flexibility, enabling an agile, any-device-anywhere working environment, without loss of compliance or control.
