Ceph consists of a highly scalable and flexible platform that enables object, block, and file storage in a single universal storage system to enable enterprise storage in the cloud. As a new member of the Dell Emerging Solutions Ecosystem, Inktank has integrated Ceph into Dell-s Crowbar software, allowing customers to deploy the Ceph storage solution in conjunction with OpenStack components. By joining the ecosystem, Inktank has completed Dell-s thorough certification process, including testing on Dell PowerEdge servers and Dell Force10 switches on 10-gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) infrastructure.
