PETALUMA, CA — (Marketwire) — 11/30/12 — MarketLive, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise-class eCommerce technology and services, today revealed that its merchants increased Cyber Monday revenues by 48% compared to last year in a stunning start to the official 2012 holiday shopping season. In comparison, IBM Benchmark reported only a 30% jump in year-over-year spending on Cyber Monday, while ComScore reported a 17% increase.
Over the course of the weekend, MarketLive merchants saw year-on-year increases in all major measures, including:
Revenue: up 51.3% across the weekend and, notably, increased by 101% on Thanksgiving Day and 75% on Black Friday
Visits: up 30.3%
Conversions: up 5.3%
Average order value: up 2.2%, including a 14.3% rise on Thanksgiving Day and a 12.2% increase on Black Friday.
This growth came despite marked increases in competition as Amazon and Big Box retailers battle for mindshare and marketshare. Setting a new precedent in terms of controversial early holiday promotions, retailers drove ever more compelling block buster specials off-line and on-line on Thanksgiving Day.
“MarketLive merchants have plenty of reasons to celebrate a great holiday start. In an ever more competitive environment, MarketLive merchants continue to outpace their competition, leveraging their unique online presence, brand strength and compelling offers,” said Mark Pierce, CEO of MarketLive.
