FREMONT, CA — (Marketwire) — 11/12/12 — AMAX, a leading innovator of , dynamic , and custom solutions, today announced during the annual Supercomputing show in Salt Lake City, Utah, that it will offer the new NVIDIA® Tesla® K20 family of GPU accelerators in its ClusterMax cluster and ServMax server platforms. The new AMAX high performance GPU solutions have been optimized for double precision floating point performance within a tight 225W power envelope, providing unprecedented real-world compute performance and breakthrough power-efficiency specifically targeting climate & weather modeling, CFD, CAE, computational physics, biochemistry simulations, and computational finance.
The ClusterMax and ServMax platform solutions infused targets universities, national research labs, government, and enterprise high-performance computing environments where massive computational power is required. To meet these demands, AMAX offers up the ClusterMax SuperG, a complete turnkey GPU-enabled cluster that has been pre-configured, ready to deploy on-site and configurable with up to 84 NVIDIA Tesla K20 GPU accelerators, to deliver over 84 Teraflops of peak double precision performance across 209,664 CUDA cores per standard 42U cabinet. Compared to other HPC solutions in the market, ClusterMax SuperG delivers equivalent performance at 25% greater density with 11% fewer racks and switches.
“With NVIDIA-s powerful and efficient Tesla K20 accelerators and AMAX-s dynamic cluster and server solution designs, we are able to deliver breakthrough performance and compute efficiency for double precision focused applications,” said James Huang, Product Manager at AMAX. “With SMX, Dynamic Parallelism, and Hyper-Q technologies embedded in the Kepler compute architecture, the performance increase we-ve seen in data analytics, satellite imaging, and weather modeling applications have simply been astounding and we are excited to bring these incredible solutions to market.”
Announced separately today, the NVIDIA Tesla K20 family of GPU accelerators is the world-s highest-performance, most energy-efficient GPU. The Tesla K20X GPU accelerator is the new flagship of NVIDIA-s Tesla product line. It provides the industry-s highest single and double precision peak floating point performance — 3.95 teraflops and 1.31 teraflops, respectively. The product family also includes the Tesla K20 GPU accelerator, which provides 3.52 teraflops of single precision and 1.17 teraflops of double precision peak performance. Based on the revolutionary , the Tesla K20 accelerators deliver industry leading performance on a range of leading high performance computing (HPC) scientific, engineering and technical applications.
