NEW HAVEN, CT — (Marketwire) — 10/22/12 — Woodbridge International is pleased to announce the completion of a joint venture agreement between its client Yamada Electric, headquartered in Chiba, Japan and Manaus-based Lite-On Mobile Brazil.
The new joint venture gives Yamada expanded production capabilities and proximity to key clients, while providing a new customer base for Lite-On Mobile.
Yamada specializes in precision molding, zinc die casting, decorating and assembly primarily for the consumer products industry. Lite-On Mobile manufactures injection-molded precision plastic parts and other types of assemblies for the telecom, computer hardware and electronics industries. The new company will operate as Yamada-LOM in the Manaus location and be housed in 30,000 sq. ft. of pristine manufacturing space at the current LOM facility.
“Along with our team in Brazil, we are pleased we met Yamada-s criteria for a joint venture partner,” said Brace Carpenter, Senior M&A Advisor in Woodbridge-s Boston office. “By screening many prospects down to a few potential targets, we were able to ensure that the management team, facilities and product quality were all going to be a fit.”
The transaction is the second deal Woodbridge completed for Yamada — and is the second transaction Woodbridge closed this year with a Brazilian company. Woodbridge also closed Yamada-s 2011 acquisition of Mexico-based Servicios Vistamex.
Woodbridge International, founded in 1993, is an innovative, marketing-driven M&A firm headquartered in New Haven, CT. The firm serves clients from its 10 North American offices and locations in the Netherlands, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Honduras.
