SAP certifies TPG PSLink by TPG The Project Group

Munich, Germany. 27 May 2009 – TPG The Project Group, a full-service provider of enterprise-wide project management based on Microsoft Project Server, announced today that its product TPG PSLink has passed the comprehensive tests for “Third Party Integration Scenarios” to achieve a SAP Certification. Now TPG PSLink is the only SAP-certified product enabling the bidirectional integration of Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) with SAP. As the flagship in TPG’s product portfolio, it ensures seamless data interchange between SAP and Microsoft EPM. The SAP Custom Certification Scenario included seven key project management use cases and was based on extremely sophisticated tests that went far beyond standard SAP certification requirements.
After analysis of the standard test scenarios provided by SAP, TPG realized that none of the standard scenarios was capable of covering the broad interface functionality of TPG PSLink. “It was essential for us to not just earn the ‘SAP Certified’ label, but to have SAP validate the architecture and functionality of the numerous interface functions of our product,” said Stavros Georgantzis, Managing Director of The Project Group. “Our customers want to see that our product is tested against the SAP business objects that we address in their implementation, so we certified the interface functions of all use cases related to our business.”
TPG instead decided to go for a custom integration certification scenario comprising seven central use cases with more than 40 business function calls. The scenario covers the functionalities within WBS structures, networks, maintenance orders, primary and secondary cost planning, CATS time sheets, CO allocation document postings, and actual cost synchronization. In addition, the performance of the product was validated for mass data interchange.
TPG PSLink is implemented at more than 50 companies on four continents and integrates Microsoft Project EPM with SAP PS, CO, PM, SD, CATS and other modules.
By integrating Microsoft Enterprise Project Management with SAP, companies achieve increased efficiency as well as higher acceptance by all users. Project managers benefit from the advantages of Microsoft Project, and financial accounting staff from those of SAP. In addition, end-to-end processes and the elimination of double data administration in the two solutions make many tasks much easier. The integration delivers a clear separation between project planning and cost accounting, while enabling the use of mobile SAP data by staff on the road.
