CAMBRIDGE, MA — (Marketwire) — 09/19/12 — Intrepid Pursuit today debuted , a new music discovery app for the iPhone designed to introduce users to new artists and bands. Timbre-s minimalist concert calendar displays nearby shows, and connects listeners to the artists- music via iTunes. This allows music lovers to listen, become fans and buy tickets on-the-spot.
“Timbre was created to lead people to exciting new music and bands, and encourage them to attend live shows,” said Mark Kasdorf, Intrepid Pursuit-s founder and CEO. “Timbre helps musicians connect with a new fan base, and sell more tickets and merchandise.”

Timbre allows users to find live concerts near them. When a user selects a concert, they are presented with the band-s most popular song and a concert poster page with concert details. The user can listen to more songs by the artist, or swipe to discover new bands.

Timbre was “born” at the 2012 Boston Innovation Challenge Hack-a-thon, Connecting Disconnected Communities. The theme inspired Intrepid-s CTO, Matt Bridges, himself a former independent musician, to create a tool to connect musical artists and their community.
