He previously served as CISO at Nuance, as Vice President of IT and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Symantec, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM).
has over 20 years of security experience and is well-known in the industry as a leading speaker at major conferences such as BlackHat, DefCon, and RSA and as a contributor to numerous security publications. Frei joins NSS Labs as Research Director. Former Gartner Analyst joins NSS Labs as Research Analyst from Thru LLC where he served as Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy. Prior to Thru, he spent over 5 years at Gartner, most notably — leading the research firm-s coverage of Managed File Transfer — as a Senior Research Analyst in the Web Application Development & Integration group. Skybakmoen provided research and analysis for thousands of Gartner clients, and spoke at Gartner conferences, with press and customers — from C-level executives to enterprise architects — about the IT challenges enterprises face today, particularly around PaaS and SaaS.
