MILPITAS, CA — (Marketwire) — 09/14/12 — JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) today announced that it will highlight key fiber optic and 100G technology at the (ECOC) in Amsterdam, The Netherlands from September 17-19, 2012. Conference attendees are invited to visit JDSU at booth #430 to see its latest network technology offerings and to speak with JDSU experts.
JDSU will introduce new test technology at ECOC that includes:
– World-s first solution for testing next-generation 100G networks with CFP 2 modules. Based on JDSU-s leading , JDSU will demonstrate how component and system vendors can test their new CFP 2 and CFP 4 designs to help ensure high quality while reducing time to market. Demonstrations are by invitation only.
– Industry-s only test solution that enables design verification testing of Optical Transport Networks (OTNs) at thirty-two times the speed of previous solutions. By testing multiple Optical Channel Data Units (ODUs) simultaneously instead of through traditional sequential tests, component and system vendors can help ensure the key switching capabilities for 100G transmission products.
– First line of that integrate automatic PASS/FAIL certification for fiber inspection and optical power measurements on a single portable device, making it fast and easy for technicians to test and certify their quality of work.
Optical communications solutions from JDSU that will be demonstrated or displayed at the event include:
– Now shipping to network equipment manufacturers (NEMs), the transceiver provides flexible network management in Enterprise and Metro networks. The demo will show how the tunable SFP+ operates with the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexor (DWDM) SFP+ transceiver from JDSU that is currently being sampled by customers.
– On display will be modulators and receivers that are being shipped in volume to NEMs for high-speed networks that operate at 40G and 100G data rates. JDSU now also offers custom solutions for 40G and 100G modules. In addition, the company will show its complete suite of client side modules, including the next generation of high-speed 40G QSFP+ and 100G CFP2/CFP4 form factor products.
– JDSU-s will be shown that includes the industry-s first twin 1×20 wavelength selective switch (WSS). TrueFlex products are currently being sampled by customers and are being incorporated into functionally integrated line card products to enable the next generation of Self Aware Networks. Related developments are also under way for the next generation of .
– To date, JDSU has delivered more than 150,000 to network equipment manufacturers that are used to power EDFAs, a critical optical component that regenerates weakened network signals traveling long distances optical networks. This milestone represents more than one billion hours of field deployment and a field reliability rate of < 10 FIT.
JDSU will also participate in two speaking sessions during the event:
– Room B, Sunday, September 16, 14:00.
Brandon Callings, CTO for Optical Communications at JDSU, will present on a panel that will focus on evaluation of technology options for beyond 100G transport solutions including related system requirements, subsystems, components and interconnections.
Market Focus Theater, Hall 1, Wednesday, September 19, 13:25.
Peter Roorda, optical technology expert at JDSU, will discuss WSS technology and JDSU-s TrueFlex portfolio and how it will impact Self Aware Networks of the future.
