Munich/Hallbergmoos, April 22 – Via IP phones one can now easily open doors, activate alarm signals, close shutters, control heating installations or start electric motors. ANDTEK will present its solution at the Cisco Expo taking place at the Congress Center of the Hanover Fair on April 28 and 29. With special software of the Munich-based unified communications specialist it is possible to integrate almost all electrical components into the voice/data network and to control it via this network. The application area is versatile and ranges among other things over the control of building equipment and complete production machines up to the control of security installations.
The solution is based on unified communications software of ANDTEK running on a central AND Phone Application Server. This server operates a controller transmitting signals from and to the IP phone system and thus sends the status of electrical components to the server (e.g. lighting off, shutters opened etc.). Different controllers are used according to the application area to activate specific electrical components.
Sensors being additionally integrated into the unified communications solution can be used as trigger for certain “actions” – e.g. temperature adjustment, light luminance, heating warmth etc.
The application areas of an electrical components control within a voice/data network are extremely versatile and can be used for all types of business.
Examples are:
– Signal “Do not disturb“ will be displayed in case someone is talking on the phone.
– Automatic hooter activation in case someone makes an alarm announcement via the IP phone.
– Direct control of lighting, heating and shutters via the IP phone.
– Automatic activation of a phone call to the security center in case the alarm system indicates a certain status.
“The integration of any electrical components into the unified communications network offers extremely extended possibilities how to use an IP network“, says Roland Russwurm, manager of ANDTEK GmbH. In addition there is also a practical benefit for all users within the company.
