NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwire) — 08/10/12 — Information Builders, a leader in and , , and solutions, today announced that the Center for Digital Government recognized the company with the Best Fit Integrator Modernization Award in Finance and Administration for its instrumental role in the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration-s (DRA) Single View of the Taxpayer project. The DRA, which manages the tax collections for 253 state municipalities and oversees the statewide property tax system, used Information Builders- WebFOCUS BI platform and iWay Software to develop the Single View of the Taxpayer initiative, a BI and data analytics environment that boosted revenue and improved across critical tax processing activities through modernization of the DRA-s legacy applications.
As a result of the modernization project, New Hampshire DRA is able to oversee $3.5 billion in property tax revenue each year, thanks to direct visibility into taxpayer data that improved capture, access, analysis, and projections from critical information. Users can tap the Single View of the Taxpayer application to view customized BI across numerous divisions of the department, including: Document Processing, Central Taxpayer Services, Administration, Audit, Hearings, Municipal Services, Property Appraisal, and Collections.
Prior to the project, a legacy IBM As/400 IT environment limited the DRA-s ability to analyze historical trends or conduct strategic future planning. Rather than implementing a packaged revenue management system, which would require a complete replacement of the legacy infrastructure, costing more than $40 million, the DRA chose the route of modernization, which enabled better access and management of legacy information and more flexible reporting and analysis based around a single view of the taxpayer.
“At the DRA, we recognized that our success relied upon collaborating with an integrator that would bring innovation, efficiency, and integrity to the table,” says Brian Pace, systems architect for the New Hampshire DRA. “Information Builders- modernization program gave us the flexibility to overcome the challenges of working with legacy systems, while also creating an environment in which we uncovered a true view of our taxpayers.”
“We are honored to be recognized for helping New Hampshire DRA realize the vision of a -single-view- system,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO of Information Builders. “The beauty of Information Builders technology is that it not only enables our customers to create reports and analytics to suit their precise information needs, but also addresses the critical issue of data integration and quality, which are essential to an endeavor of this scale. This award is testament to the value that our solutions deliver, and to the positive relationships between our company and our customers.”
