MONTREAL, QUEBEC — (Marketwire) — 06/12/12 — Peak Positioning Technologies Inc. (“Peak”) (TSX VENTURE: PKK) and its Chinese partner, LongKey-Hong Kong Limited (“LongKey”) announced today that the next version of their mobile cloud platform, AiNi3.2, will include a feature aimed at facilitating access to China-s most popular social media apps, including QQ and Sina Weibo, from 3G smartphones. The commercial release of AiNi3.2 is scheduled for the third quarter of this year.
QQ is the most popular free instant messaging application in China with well over 700 million active user accounts. While Sina Weibo, similar to a hybrid of Twitter and Facebook, allows users to stay in touch with one another via their personal web pages and postings, and to follow other users- such as celebrities- and public figures-. As of February 2012, Sina Weibo had more than 300 million registered users. Chinese smartphones equipped with AiNi3.2 will make it easier for subscribers to access these social media apps from their 3G phones to communicate with their contacts and post messages on the go.
“AiNi3.2 will change the way 3G phone users access the social media apps on their smartphones. We have reduced the number of steps involved in sending an instant message or posting a message, have cut the time required to do so, and have made the most popular social networking communication apps in China conveniently available directly from the smartphone owner-s contacts” said Johnson Joseph, President and CEO of Peak. “With AiNi3.2, 3G phone users can now simply select a contact on their phone and are automatically presented with the social media ways in which they can communicate with that contact. They can then simply select any one of the available social media icons and immediately begin to communicate with that particular contact via the selected social media. This may not seem like a big deal, but we believe that making it easier to use these types of applications could be of significant importance to LongKey-s telecom partners and positively impact their average revenue per user. Touching on social media apps also brings a consumer dimension to AiNi, making the platform attractive to individuals in addition to businesses. With AiNi3.2, we are tapping into the much larger consumer market as well as the business market originally targeted by the platform,” Mr. Joseph went on to say.
