NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwire) — 05/31/12 — , the premier app for easily discovering, capturing, and sharing memorable moments related to specific locations, announced today the release of Wyst v.1.4. for iPhone. New features include Nudge, which alerts users about relevant nearby posts, and a dynamic radius, which improves the accuracy of nearby content.
Launched in November 2011, Wyst enables users to discover hidden stories, interesting tidbits, and memorable moments relevant to a user-s location — giving users new perspectives on their surroundings and turning everyday experiences into expeditions. Like a modern-day message in a bottle, Wyst lets users capture their own adventures via geo-tagged photos or notes, called wysts, and leave them behind for others to find.
“Wyst is all about capturing serendipitous moments and sharing them as they happen, where they happen,” said Iker Amerlinck Huerta, co-founder and CEO of Wyst. “Wyst v.1.4. improves the users- experience, empowering them to discover new wysts, find their friends, and record memories on the go. We-re excited about all the new offerings and will continue to enhance users- daily lives through Wyst.”
Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer Yago Amerlinck Huerta added, “Cool new features like Nudge and a dynamic radius will make the Wyst experience richer, faster, and more efficient — all without draining your phone-s battery, a real win for our users.”
Wyst-s new features are:
– Nudge tracks users- locations and alerts them when they approach a place where a friend has left a wyst. Unlike other applications that track users- locations continuously, Nudge does not use background GPS tracking, minimizing battery drain.
– Users can now receive notifications about relevant app activity, such as Facebook or Twitter friends joining Wyst, new followers, and new comments or replies. They also can control which notifications they receive and how they receive them.
– The tutorial introduces new users to the world of Wyst and shows them how to use it for the first time.
– The dynamic radius detects users- locations via GPS and figures out how much content has been shared around them. If many wysts have been shared within a small distance, the dynamic radius narrows; if it detects that wysts are not immediately nearby, the radius expands to show relevant wysts.
In addition, Wyst v.1.4. contains a new notifications tab, larger emoticons, improved image compression for faster loading times, design updates, and bug fixes.
Wyst v.1.4. is now available in the App Store. For more information on Wyst, please visit .
