With Screen Ruler 2D the software company INFONAUTICS GmbH has just launched a desktop ruler by software developers for software developers. As its name implies Screen Ruler 2D allows besides the pixel-perfect positioning of the ruler also a simultaneously measuring of the desktop in 2 dimensions (horizontal and vertical).
Screen Ruler 2D consists of 2 windows. One window represents the translucent rectangular ruler with scalable guides at each edge. The second window represents the control window equipped with positioning aids (buttons) enabling to move or extend/shrink the ruler by one pixel to each side. Likewise, the positioning and sizing of the ruler is possible by cursor keys. The built-in magnifier enables an accurate positioning of the ruler and can be activated at each of the four corners of the ruler. The additionally integrated color picker shows color information in four different color systems as RGB Values (Red/Green/Blue), HSL Values (Hue/Saturation/Lightness), HTML (hexadecimal Web colors), DEC (decimal color value). Furthermore, Screen Ruler 2D provides automatically important technical information about the underlying window such as window name, window class, window handle, process ID and relating task.
The latest version of Screen Ruler 2D 1.12 runs under Windows XP/Vista/7. The installation program of Screen Ruler 2D installs the 32 or 64 Bit version of the program automatically according to the relating operating system.
