In this role, Kimball will be responsible for leading all corporate operating functions for Apptio, including Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, Corporate Development and Business Development.

Prior to joining Apptio, Kimball served as President and Chief Executive Officer of RealNetworks since January 2010 where he led a comprehensive turnaround effort to overhaul and simplify a complex collection of digital media-related business, removing $70 million in annualized operating expenses. Kimball joined RealNetworks at the beginning of the digital media revolution in 1999 and served as a member of the senior executive team since 2003, including as Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President. Kimball began his technology career at IBM and has also served on the Boards of Directors or Advisory Board for a variety of technology companies and trade associations, including RealNetworks, Rhapsody International, Likewise Software, the Digital Media Association, and the Software Division of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIAA). Bob holds a B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
