MISSOULA, MT — (Marketwire) — 04/17/12 — Blackfoot is pleased to announce that the Cooperative-s continued strong performance results recently allowed the company to mail more than 18,500 checks to member-owners in 22 Western Montana communities. The checks represent a $1.3 million capital credit distribution authorized by the Board of Trustees and help bring money back into local homes and community businesses. Capital credit returns are part of each member-s total ownership interest. Each member builds an ownership interest through time and purchases and the Cooperative returns part of this investment back to each member.

This year-s meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, at the University of Montana in the University Center. The meeting will celebrate the company-s solid financial performance and Blackfoot-s 39 college scholarship winners. Member-owners will also have a voice by electing the Board of Trustees and will be rewarded with gifts and cash raffle prizes. The Board will also pay tribute to Joan Mandeville, Blackfoot-s former CEO who lost her battle with cancer in early 2012.
