The fast, high resolution large format scanner is a reliable solution for demanding users in architecture and construction offices, in the cartography, CAD and GIS system branches as well as for copy services. The device produces high resolution scans of documents with a maximum width of up to 36 inches (915 mm) and true optical resolution of 1200 x 600 dpi.
„Due to the higher scanning speed, the entire digitalization process; from scanning to image conversion, post-processing and finally, digital image output; can be reduced up to 20 percent. A critical factor particularly for scanning service providers, because it reduces production costs substantially“, noted Thomas Ingendoh, CEO and President of Image Access. „The devices are particularly suitable for users who, in addition to scanning speed, also need high resolution image quality“. Aside from lower production costs, the scanner’s very low maintenance requirements are another positive aspect. The dust protected camera technology, together with patented stitching procedure, LED illumination (50,000 hours lifetime) and the low number of consumables make the product practically maintenance-free.
The user operates the scanner either with a standard internet browser or alternatively, via the built-in touch screen. With a monitor directly connected to the scanner (optional), the WideTEK 36 can also be used as a completely stand-alone device, without a client PC. After scanning, the operator can modify scan parameters such as color, brightness, contrast, etc. The modified image is immediately displayed on the monitor and available to the user without having to rescan the document. Walk-up scanning enables the user to send images directly from the scanner to any destination in the network (i. e. network directory, FTP server or network printer), again – without needing a client PC attached. Using the integrated USB port, the scanned image can be saved directly to any USB memory device.
The WideTEK 36 scans historical and valuable documents particularly gently thanks to spring-loaded ball bearings and optionally available transparent envelopes. The scanner can handle old, fragile transparent drawings without problems. The WideTEK 36’s optimized LED illumination, the optional white backplate and the adaptive 2D binarization algorithm ensure the user high contrast results and provide a more cost-effective alternative than conventional backlight units.
The WideTEK 36 large format scanner is an efficient solution characterized by fast processing, brilliant images and nearly no consumables. Competitively priced at 9999 (including foot stand), the WideTEK 36 guarantees low cost, efficient production with a quick return on investment.
