BrandMaker Marketing Planner SaaS now has comprehensive management of rights and roles
Karlsruhe, November 19, 2008 +++ BrandMaker, a leading software specialist in the area of marketing process optimization, has added a comprehensive new “rights and roles” capability to its Marketing Planner package, available as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Marketing Planner is the first entirely web-based system designed specifically for marketing planning, and it provides those responsible for marketing with tools for the planning, budgeting, and evaluation of their efforts.
The new rights and roles functionality supports structured teamwork by the marketing team, and even allows integration of external service providers. User rights provide precise control over which users have access to which areas, functions, and projects in Marketing Planner. The sophisticated management of rights and roles controls access to the calendar as well as to budget information and reports. BrandMaker provides different permissions levels for specific roles. For example, a user in the role of “manager” can work on any area of planning, while there are more restrictions on a user in the “employee” role; and a user with “guest” access can only read the calendar. Individual aspects of the calendar view can be controlled by rights too. For example, the administrator can specify that marketing employees can only see and edit projects that have been assigned to them, but not those of their colleagues.
The new rights-and-roles functionality also gives marketers the option to grant external service providers (ad agencies, for example) clearly-defined access to Marketing Planner SaaS, thus integrating them directly into the project-planning process. Based on their rights and roles, they see only the information that is actually meant for them – it is only within their own projects that external service providers are allowed to check the project calendar, or perhaps even to add information themselves, for example.
“With the new functionality, marketing managers can integrate their entire staff and even external service providers into the project plan, in exactly the way that makes the most sense,” says Mirko Holzer, CEO of BrandMaker. “This simplifies teamwork and the coordination of the team considerably.”
The new rights and roles functions are part of the standard version of Marketing Planner SaaS. Marketing Planner is intuitive to use and provides a constantly updated view of activities, tasks, appointments, and budgets. Thanks to Marketing Planner’s centralized data storage, everyone involved always has up-to-date information – every change is seen in real time by all users who have the appropriate permissions.
