REDWOOD CITY, CA — (Marketwire) — 02/28/12 — Jack Dorsey, founder of Twitter and Square, will be hosting a video-mentoring session on Tuesday, February 28th, as part of an initiative to foster entrepreneurship among disengaged high school students.
Dorsey will be partnering with BUILD, a Silicon Valley-based non-profit that promotes college readiness via entrepreneurship education. Using TokBox video technology, Dorsey will host the chat on BUILD-s web site, encouraging students from the Bay Area and Boston to ask questions and learn about entrepreneurship.
Dorsey sits on the national board of BUILD, which works in partnership with high school students and businesses to provide an innovative and experiential learning program. It-s the only nonprofit in the country that works with not only disadvantaged, but also highly disengaged students, and promises to propel them to high school graduation eligible and ready for college. To date, 100% of BUILD seniors have graduated from high school, and more than 90% have gone on to college.
