S4AdScore: Business intelligence for broadcasters

S4M – Solutions for Media signs partnership agreement with SB3 Inc.

Systems and consulting company S4M – Solutions for Media has further broadened its product portfolio by signing a partnership agreement with Business Intelligence Software & Services Company SB3 Inc.: By adding the business intelligence tool “S4AdScore”, S4M completes its integrated software systems for the broadcast industry – enabling action oriented decision support with versatile reporting and business analytics.

To meet a broadcaster’s need for sophisticated business and revenue analysis, S4AdScore provides real-time information deployment, consolidated reports at the corporate level plus very detailed analysis within and across all business units. When it comes to complex data analysis like financial pacing or sales history analysis, business intelligence reports can be very time-consuming, labour- and cost-intensive. Moreover, data integrity is always a foundational need. With S4AdScore, S4M addresses those demands with tight integration and a synchronized upgrade path for its users. As a standardized product, S4AdScore contains hundreds of predefined dashboards, reports and cubes which are designed “by the business for the business”. Examples of these reports are sales pacing reports, year-to-date comparison, inventory reports, historical analysis or revenue growth comparisons.

For every report section, individual aggregations in a dashboard as well as drill down features are supported. In practise, a historical revenue analysis can be generated for the entire corporate organisation – and with just a few mouse clicks expanded to individual station levels. For example: a user can telescope from the station group level as a whole to the individual station, to daypart, to program to a break level with a few mouse clicks. The same applies for the sales office, where analysis can be expanded to sales persons, agencies or clients in multiple calendars simultaneously. The S4AdScore system is extensible and secure-privileged users can easily design individual reports or simply access the so-called data cubes per MS Excel or Microsoft reporting services via a secure web portal.

Today as a first step, S4AdScore closely interacts with S4M’s sales system S4AdSales. In the near future, the tool will be deployed with S4AdSales_web.biz, S4M’s recent sales system for the Internet, mobile and interactive devices.
In a second step, S4AdScore will be integrated with S4M’s solutions for license management & program logistics and program planning & scheduling – S4Rights and S4Schedule. By completing the integration, S4M extends the analysis capability of its systems not only to the sales revenue figures, but directly relates this information to the corresponding license and program acquisition cost information and ultimately enables profitability analysis.
