(TSX VENTURE: UBN) is pleased to announce that Jack Stewart has joined Urban as director of sales and marketing effective January 3, 2012. Mr. Stewart is a telecommunications specialist with extensive practical and management experience in sales, marketing, customer service and technical operations.
Mr. Stewart started his career in radio and television broadcasting where he progressed from production and programming management to the position of General Manager, CHFM radio, Calgary. He worked in public relations as Regional Manager Communications – BC and the Yukon for a high profile federal government agency and operated his own diversified communications consulting firm in Vancouver. His career in the cable television industry included working for Rogers Cablesystems as Regional Marketing Manager – Western Canada, and Field Operations Manager – Vancouver. Mr. Stewart has re-joined Urban Communications Inc. after having previously served as President of one of its subsidiaries.
NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE UPDATE
As projected in Urban-s news release dated November 24, 2011, the company has now completed the installation of its new core electronic network infrastructure equipment which will enable Urban to upgrade its service capability and expand capacity. Under the direction of Mr. Stewart Urban will now initiate a commercial sales initiative in buildings in metro Vancouver that the company has access agreements with in order to generate revenue opportunities.
