Following four years of rapid growth in Waterloo, Thalmic Labs plans to hire for engineering, sales, marketing and business development positions in San Francisco and will continue to hire in Waterloo.
Kriese, former Senior Director and Head of Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, brings more than 15 years of experience marketing consumer technology and services, including innovative digital products such as virtual reality (VR and 360), to Thalmic Labs. Her primary responsibility will be to oversee all marketing and communications efforts for the company.

Prior to joining Thalmic, Kriese was Senior Director and Head of Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, where she led U.S. marketing efforts for Samsung–s virtual reality portfolio, launching Gear VR, Gear 360 and the Samsung VR service. She is credited as the strategist behind Samsung–s significant market share growth and resulting category leadership position in VR. Prior to joining Samsung, Tara has held various consumer and product marketing roles at Amazon in Digital Products, Bing and Windows Live at Microsoft and AIM at AOL.
