London, 5th September 2016 – A near universal shift towards the adoption of cloud-based infrastructure, for both storage and applications, is placing greater demand on network services in terms of latency and bandwidth. As enterprises store, process and move more data between key locations and data centres, their demand for bandwidth is growing exponentially and the network is becoming increasingly mission critical.
To help enable this global shift, Colt Technology Services is undergoing a significant transformation, refocusing on delivering fibre-based, high-bandwidth solutions, coupled with significant investments in the next 12 months to deliver a best in class network and customer experience. Executing this strategy requires the right mix of skills and the company has announced three senior commercial hires to lead the charge.
Tom Regent will be joining Colt Technology Services as Chief Commercial Officer and a member of the Executive Leadership Team on September 19, reporting to CEO Carl Grivner. Based in London, Tom will be leading Colt’s global sales, presales and marketing teams.
Tom joins Colt from BT Global Services where he held numerous senior roles, most recently acting as President, Global Banking and Financial Markets. Prior to this he was President of Sales and Marketing, responsible for worldwide sales operations, indirect channels and marketing.
Previously, he held a number of senior roles at AT&T, including head of AT&T EMEA, AT&T’s largest operation outside the US. Before that he was VP of global marketing at AT&T, VP global accounts EMEA, and chief of staff for the CEO of AT&T’s global business.
Tom said on his appointment: “Colt has the best assets in the industry, second to none, and is implementing a bold new strategy to tap into the demand for mission critical high bandwidth across Europe and Asia. I am excited to be part of the team who will drive this transformation.”
By revolutionising the customer experience and investing heavily in their network, Colt will become not only the most customer oriented business in the industry, but the leading provider of high bandwidth services for enterprises and wholesale in Europe and Asia’s largest business hubs. In line with its transformation, Colt is in the process of doubling its global sales force and two more senior appointments will be leading that charge in the Chief Commercial Officer’s team.
Paula Cogan is joining Colt as Vice President, Enterprise & Partner Sales Europe, having previously worked at Verizon Partner Solutions as Regional Vice President EMEA & LATAM, leading the wholesale business, responsible for over half a billion of sales annual revenue. Prior to this Paula held a number of senior roles in Verizon Enterprise Solutions and Verizon Business.
Tim Passingham is joining Colt as Vice President Wholesale Sales Europe, moving from Level 3 where he held a Senior Vice President role heading up a large team and was responsible for over half a billion dollars of annual revenue. Prior to Level 3 Tim held a number of senior roles across BT.
Commenting on the new appointments, CEO Carl Grivner said: “We employ the best talent globally, and through our business transformation Colt is challenging the industry incumbents who have large networks but are slow to respond to needs of businesses. We know that the telecommunications industry is not customer focused, and we use experience and customer insight to lead the way, providing a level of personalised service that business customers expect.”
Colt provides businesses with reliable and secure high-bandwidth services backed by the right choice of technology, service and commercial propositions, enabled by seamless network integration between Europe, Asia and North America. Colt customers benefit from our continuing investment in our unique, purpose-built, intelligent network.
Backed by nearly a quarter of a century of investment and a deep high quality fibre based metro network footprint across three continents, Colt is perfectly placed to respond to demands for high bandwidth solutions.
