Cloud Foundry Sees Strong Momentum in Asia Pacific

SHANGHAI, CHINA — (Marketwired) — 12/02/15 — — , home of the industry standard Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), kicked off its first Asian Summit today with news of significant development progress and strong community growth across Asia Pacific. More than 400 application developers, IT operations experts, business leaders and service providers are attending this week–s Summit in Shanghai.

Attendee are getting a first look at which expands the availability of IBM–s hybrid Cloud capabilities to China. Built on Cloud Foundry, Bluemix Local brings Chinese enterprises and developers the speed and ease of app development on Bluemix behind a client–s firewall.

Summit attendees have a unique opportunity to learn how software engineers at Zhejiang University are using Cloud Foundry to develop the PaaS cloud platforms that power China–s smart city initiatives. They also are exploring how Huawei and others are using Cloud Foundry to speed business innovation.

In Asia Pacific, NIA Korea is the latest member to join the Foundation joining Anchora, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Huawei, NTT, Telstra and Toshiba in strengthening the Foundation–s presence across the region. The Cloud Foundry user community in Asia Pacific continues to expand as well, with 53 self-organized local groups, attracting more than 10,000 members across Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
