SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwired) — 09/29/15 — Thirteen vets with disabilities were selected for a 10-day climb and trek to Gannett Peak, at 13,809 feet the highest peak in Wyoming. The hope is they would have a transformative experience that would inspire the warriors to grow and continue to contribute their absolute best to the world. According to program director, John Toth, “With the support of Wells Fargo and the reliability of BlueCosmo telecommunications devices and technologies, we are able to assure the group–s safety, allow for communication with the team for emergencies and also provide real time images from the expedition. We had one group member whose grandmother passed away, and he was able to speak to his family in Pennsylvania while mid trek at a point where cellular signals were not available.”
“I had been feeling numb and desensitized for a very long time, and now I–m feeling more alive than ever. The clouds look like they are starting to dissipate!”
— Janet Gonzalez
“I know now that the path I–m on is the right one. Giving back service to my fellow Veterans is clear to me now. Being with such positive people has gotten me past my first barrier. Because of such negativity here at home I almost lost who I am. Now I–m back full on! I have goals and a plan.” — Paul Smith
A BlueCosmo spokesman, Ken Grunski, said the company–s telecommunication equipment is designed to serve those who go off the grid for adventure, rescue, disaster recovery and other activities where regular cell signals and communications are no longer viable. “It gives us tremendous gratification to see these veteran warriors crossing barriers of previous limitations, knowing we are able to provide back up and infrastructure support for their safety and comfort.”
Using the Blue Cosmo isathub wifi terminal, the climbers and guides are able to blog and send photos in remote areas without cell phone coverage to share this amazing experience to loved ones back home.
