VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (Marketwired) — 07/03/15 — On July 9th 2015, the is bringing together some of BC–s brightest technology minds to spend an evening with former Netflix Chief Architect of Cloud Services, Founder of eBay Research Labs and current technical fellow for VC firm Battery Ventures, Adrian Cockcroft.
The first in a series of Dun & Bradstreet hosted –D&B Tech Talks–, the event will see Adrian Cockcroft share his top predictions for the cloud computing industry in 2015 and beyond, as well as how cloud-native applications, continuous-delivery and DevOps techniques, will speed the pace of innovation and disruption.
“It–s great to see so much innovation happening through cloud technology in Vancouver and what better way to celebrate this than with the opportunity to learn from one of the leading visionaries in our industry,” says Mark Cunningham, Founder and President of the Dun & Bradstreet Cloud Innovation Center. “This Tech Talk is set to be a true thought leadership event for anyone working in DevOps, Product Management, Software Engineering or with an interest in the latest technology trends more broadly.”
To support future tech innovation in the city, –The Future of Cloud Innovation– will also be supporting the next generation of cloud enthusiasts in Vancouver by way of donation. $5 from every ticket sale is being donated to , a not-for-profit initiative of the Ladies Learning Code organization that offers coding camps, workshops and after school programs for young girls interested in tech.
“Together, we hope to encourage greater gender diversity in Vancouver–s tech community by sending five girls on full scholarships to coding camp this summer,” added Cunningham.
The Future of Cloud Innovation with Adrian Cockcroft will take place on Thursday, July 9th at 6:00pm, at The Imperial, 319 Main Street, Vancouver BC. Tickets are $30 with $5 from every ticket sale being donated to Girls Learning Code.
