SAN MATEO, CA — (Marketwired) — 04/21/15 — , a global leader in cyber security defense, today announced that it has joined the Intel Security Innovation Alliance (SIA) partner program. Under the SIA program, TrapX will integrate its DeceptionGrid technology with , enabling customers to meet and defeat advanced persistent threats (APTs), zero-day events and other sophisticated malware.
DeceptionGrid automates the deployment of a network of camouflaged malware traps that are intermingled with real information technology resources. These traps appear identical in every way to real IT assets. Once sophisticated malware has slipped past other primary cyber defenses and penetrated the enterprise, it continues to move laterally to find high-value targets. Just one touch of DeceptionGrid sets off a high-confidence alert. Real-time automation passes the malware to McAfee Advanced Threat Defense, which then isolates the malware and delivers a comprehensive assessment directly to an organization–s security operations team. The teams are now empowered to defend their enterprise and defeat the malware.
“A key goal behind the Intel Security Innovation Alliance program is to accelerate the development of interoperable security products and simplify the integration of those products with complex customer environments,” said Tom Fountain, senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Intel Security. “We–re thrilled to see TrapX leverage Intel Security–s investment in its advanced threat defense and security risk management technologies.”
TrapX DeceptionGrid directly integrates into the McAfee Advanced Threat Defense sandbox, providing seamless access to the . Sharing the actionable intelligence produced by DeceptionGrid in real time allows customers to rapidly counter internal threats and attackers by automatically adapting their defense via this tightly coupled joint solution.
“By combining DeceptionGrid–s ability to defend organizations from inside a network with Intel Security–s ability to protect the network at the perimeter, organizations now have an effective platform to detect and deter today–s most challenging threats,” said Greg Enriquez, CEO for TrapX. “Being a part of this new relationship with Intel Security enables us to bring an automated, adaptive, defense and response capability to our mutual customers on a global basis. This partnership is well timed to counter the significant escalation of sophisticated threats that are now impacting enterprise and government organizations on a daily basis.”
TrapX will demonstrate DeceptionGrid at this year–s RSA conference taking place in San Francisco April 20-24. Demonstrations will take place at the TrapX booth. #939, in the South Expo Hall.
