Brandlive Launches Advanced Social Media Integration for Live Online Video Platform

PORTLAND, OR — (Marketwired) — 03/25/15 — , a web-based live video + social + merchandising platform, today announced general availability of their Advanced Social Integration module. This module enables brands to easily combine live streaming video and product merchandising with interactions on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Brandlive–s live interactive video platform has been used by over 120 brands like GoPro, Pottery Barn and adidas to conduct more than 2,900 marketing, ecommerce and training events viewable by web browser on PCs, tablets and smartphones.

The new module consists of three components: social post integration, live video on Facebook and social login for live video events.

New features include the ability for brands to integrate Twitter and Instagram posts directly into their live interactive video events. For example, a brand can add live video and ecommerce functionality to its scheduled Twitter chats. Twitter and Instagram messages that include the event hashtag are brought directly into the chat stream on the custom-branded event page hosted by Brandlive. GoPro was a beta customer for this feature and the on-demand version of its first event using it can be viewed at .

Another feature of the Advanced Social Integration module is the ability to place live video on a brand–s Facebook page. This feature was first used by the star of TLC–s Cake Boss and attracted more than 7,000 fans from around the world to a live video event hosted on the Cake Boss Facebook page. Brandlive–s ecommerce functionality was used to sell Cake Boss branded products related to the content. The on-demand version of this event can be viewed at .

“The Brandlive platform offers us the unique opportunity to leverage the on-air talent and high energy of Buddy Valastro in promoting Cake Boss Baking products, and providing his large fan base with special access,” said Jason Marrone, Senior Director of E-Business/E-Commerce at Meyer Corporation U.S., which offers the Cake Boss brand in partnership with TLC.

The new module includes the ability for consumers to register for Brandlive-based events using their Facebook or Google+ account. Login information is remembered from one event to the next, making subsequent events easy to register for. This is important to Brandlive–s brand and retail customers because it gives them a clearer profile of who they are interacting with during their live video events.

“Live interaction between a brand–s product experts and consumers has been a key component of the Brandlive platform from the beginning. Our new Advanced Social Integration module makes it easy to connect that experience to large social networks,” said Brandlive CEO Fritz Brumder. “This opens up numerous possibilities for brands and retailers to combine the reach of social media with our highly engaging live video and product merchandising experience.”
